Sandy Springs is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Sandy Springs follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. I wish the parks & rec employee who followed me around for briefly allowing my dog off leash in an empty patch (I didn't argue & immediately complied yet he felt the need to follow me around) had the same aggressive energy for the people who smoke weed around the children playing all the time. There is a group of men who regularly come in the evening & smoke so much weed I have to cut my walk short because I can't breathe. They do this in the vicinity overlooking the playground & pickleball courts. Was enjoying this park until now.

Hammond Park is a peaceful, family-friendly place that feels welcoming every time I visit. The park is well-kept, with plenty of open space to relax, walk, or enjoy time with friends and family. The playground is a nice touch for kids, and the basketball courts and open fields give teens and adults a place to stay active. I also like that itโ€™s not too crowded, so you can actually enjoy the atmosphere without feeling rushed. Itโ€™s a good balance of quiet and activity whether youโ€™re going for a quick workout, a picnic, or just some fresh air

I used to live around the area and I went to this park to play pickleball a couple times, were so good with friends, the park hadnโ€™t too much parking around the pickleball fields but the main areas are super comfy, friendly environment, good place to play pickleball for free on weekends

I loved this spotโ€”itโ€™s so friendly and welcoming! I travel for work and always try to get a few games in wherever Iโ€™m deployed. I usually feel a bit shy approaching unfamiliar courts and players, so I was hesitant about trying to get a game in at 9:30 PM in a place where I didnโ€™t know anyone. But I went for it anyway, and duuuuudeโ€ฆ.IT WAS SICK!! This is by far the best spot Iโ€™ve had the privilege to play at so far. The park has six dedicated, well-maintained courts, all open and free, which in my opinion, is where the most fun happens. Theyโ€™ve got a great paddle queue system, and the six courts are split between two skill levels, so if youโ€™re worried about your skill affecting the experience, donโ€™t be! The park offers an insanely beautiful skyline view, and since it stays open until 11 PM, you get to play with one of the most stunning backdrops in Atlanta.
